Abstract :
A novel solar-driven modular mobile robot is designed. In the solar module, an independent and rotary mechanism with two degrees of freedom is presented. One kind of photo-resistance array solar angular sensors is designed, which can detect the direction of the sunlight. A method on how to control the rotation of the solar panel and track the sun is analyzed with the independent, two degrees of freedom, row-column algorithm. The experiment shows that the modular mobile robot can track the sun effectively.
