Abstract
Introduces a novel method for the synthesis of companding circuits based on a component to component substitution. This is an alternative to another procedure proposed by the authors [1999]. It is demonstrated on a companding biquad, which is designed in CMOS technology, employing the square law characteristic of MOS transistors, leading to a so called square root domain circuit
