The low independent innovation capacity is the bottleneck constraints of Chinese auto industry to enhance the international competitiveness. This paper thinks that the major difficulties of Chinese auto industry innovating independently are imperfect government support policies, research and development funding shortage, its own brand weak, lack of independent research experience and data accumulated the innovation platform of national automobile industry not yet formed, and other reasons. This proposes we should formulate the tax and financial policies to encourage enterprises to increase investment in independent innovation, reasonably lead the Merger within the industry, expand the automotive industrial concentration, develop Chinese automobile brand to build a system of auto industry innovation and collaboration platform for innovation.
