Abstract
Today we are faced with an increasing demand for continuous network connectivity in the wired-and-wireless-integrated network. However there are many problems in this type of network due to the wireless network´s characteristics. In this paper, we propose an architecture named AWA (active wireless architecture) based on active network technology to solve the problems caused in the wireless network, especially enhancing TCP performance over a wireless link aimed at the problem of TCP performance degradation in the wireless environment. Network simulation proves that this architecture has merit and better performance.
