Abstract
A review of the development and the current status of acoustoelectronic materials and devices in Bulgaria is presented. Results from the research activity of the Institute of Solid State Physics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in the field of hydrothermal growing of synthetic quartz, excitation and propagation of bulk acoustic waves (BAWs), surface acoustic waves (SAWs), and surface transverse waves (STWs) are presented. The acoustoelectronic industry in Bulgaria is briefly reviewed. Materials and devices for frequency control and selection are evaluated
