Abstract :
An integrated magnetooptic (MO) Bragg cell module which integrates an ion-milled collimation-Fourier transform lens pair with an MO Bragg cell on a taper yttrium iron garnet-gadolinium gallium garnet (YIG-GGG) waveguide substrate, 6.0-mm×16.0 mm in size, has been realized for the first time. Taper waveguide structure is employed to simultaneously fulfill the waveguide thickness requirements for large MO Bragg bandwidth and high lens throughput. Curved hybrid lens pairs with fabricated parabolic contour show drastically reduced coma and significantly increased angular field of view. Measured performance characteristics of the integrated MO Bragg cell module, such as bandwidth, diffraction efficiency, dynamic range, and frequency resolution at a wavelength of 1.303 μm and various bands of carrier frequency are presented. Scanning of focused diffracted light spot and RF spectral analysis are demonstrated using the integrated MO Bragg cell module
