Abstract :
The routing and control flow issues in ATM-based access networks are discussed. In an access network two types of data are considered: user data and control data. The requirements for routing the data through the access network are different for each type. Taking into account these requirements, this paper describes a basic structure for routing both user and control data. To simplify the implementation, the proposed solution uses only the VPI of the ATM cells for demultiplexing
