Abstract :
A new method for Grid connection of a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) based wind power generation system relying on DPC principles is presented. This control method, called Direct Power Control for Grid Connection (DPCGC), is particularly very simple and gives fast response of the stator voltage to meet the synchronization conditions. Indeed the fact that the efficiency of the widely known control of DPC is deeply investigated; this control presents an improved version of transmission network connection scheme without any external control loop. The proposed control strategy is tested by simulation tools. The results show the effectiveness of the control that ensures an excellent synchronization of the stator and grid voltages. Experimental results tested on a 4 kW-DFIG prototype are carried out to prove the excellent performance of the DPCGC using Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) technology.
