Abstract :
A TCP congestion control strategy, called TCP PBS, is proposed to improve further the throughput performance for satellite IP networks. In TCP PBS, two new algorithms, accelerative start and expeditious recovery, and an error discriminated scheme, explicit error notification, are proposed for congestion control in satellite networks. Simulation results show that TCP PBS outperforms other TCP schemes in terms of throughput and achieves a fair share of network resources as well.
