Abstract :
Due to the extremely large bandwidth in UWB communications, traditional channel estimation methods require a very high sampling rate, which is very difficult to realize. In this paper, we propose a novel method based on the orthogonal sinusoidal correlation receiver (OSCR) for ultra wideband communications. Simulation results are given under single-path and multipath environments. The results show that this novel method has a comparable performance to traditional ways even in an ISI impaired channel, while it greatly reduces the sampling rate.
