Abstract :
Two-dimensional spread spectrum (2DSS), which combines the characteristics of direct sequence code division multiplex access (DS-CDMA) and multicarrier CDMA (MC-CDMA), has recently been paid more and more attention. In this paper, we propose a method of timing acquisition for the 2DSS system in multipath fading channel based on serial search acquisition, which can increase spectral efficiency in no need of cyclic prefix. Meanwhile, the detection probability and false-alarm probability are analyzed, and the numerical results on condition of different normalized thresholds are also presented. Results show that the proposed algorithm can obtain good synchronization performance with low complexity.
