Abstract
The purpose of the CPM (critical path method) is to identify critical activities on the critical path of activity networks. Activity networks are used for performance evaluation of certain types of projects. The deterministic version of the CPM algorithm has been well known for many years. However, the vagueness of the time parameters in the problem has led to the development of fuzzy CPM. In our study, we are interested in studying how to manage an unknown problem that could occur in practical situations. We propose an approach based on past statistical data to introduce the vagueness information into the classical CPM and also to discuss the meaning for solving the fuzzy CPM in practical situations. The main interest of this study is that the fuzzy CPM based on statistical data is an extension of the crisp CPM
