Abstract
This paper summarizes the progress of Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system of Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) Thailand. This paper provides information such as: the automatic meter reading system structure, AMR project information, number of smart meters deployed, benefits and obstacles. Emphasis is given to the successes and problems faced dokuring the implementation. This study is aimed at bringing awareness to the development and deployment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system and its impacts.
