  • Abstract
The authors of this article analyze the reasons which cause outcomes´ low repeat rate in ordinary lab testing of coal dust wettability. To eliminate interfering factors in evaluating coal dust wettability measurements such as the air diaphragm, the filling density of the dust in the tube and the hydrophilic property of the glass tube, the authors develop LM-3 device for briquette making of coal dust, composing the equipment of coal dust sample making together with DQ-2.5 digital stress testing machine. The relation between the wettability behavior of the coal dust briquette sample and the sample´s briquetting pressure P is studied at 0~6.5t/cm2 pressure. The cold briquetting technique improves coal dust wettability measurements, its effect is validated in the lab dust suppression tests using an apparatus MCYZ.
