Abstract
The pressure inside the ear canal is described for two conditions: generation of pressure in the canal from a piston set at the canal entrance and generation of pressure under normal (unoccluded) conditions. Using a simple model, it is shown how the pressure and velocity data attained from a driving piston, causing the occlusion, can be used to determine the response of the canal under free field conditions. A computer simulation was used to verify the results
