  • Abstract
The paper presents investigation of the propagation of electromagnetic waves through elliptical chiral nihility fiber embedded with conducting sheath helical windings at the core-clad interface. Considering the low-order EH01, EH11 and EH21 modes, the relative distribution of power in the core/clad sections of guide is investigated, taking into account two different types of helix orientations. It has been found that the guide exhibits the maximum amount of confinement in the fiber core section when the conducting helix structure remains parallel to the direction of wave propagation. Furthermore, the power patterns show a fairly good match at the core-clad interface, which validates the theory used for the investigation.
