Abstract
This paper proposes a new soft-switching PWM DC/DC converter with an auxiliary switch to save the power loss and improve the efficiency of a power supply. The circuit consists of a conventional voltage step up chopper converter and a developed resonant circuit. Due to the additional resonant circuit, the semiconductor device in the circuit is capable of operating with zero current and regulating duty ratio at constant frequency. The proposed converter improves the efficiency 0.5% and reduces the power loss by 16 W under nominal condition. Furthermore, the new converter using PWM scheme is capable of maintaining the high efficiency over a wide range of input voltage
