  • Abstract
The paper illustrates the usefulness of extrapolation methods in approximation of performance measures in discrete event systems. In many cases, a performance measure which is hard to calculate can be expressed as the limit of a sequence of terms which are easier to calculate. By choosing a suitable extrapolation method, one can get an accurate approximation of the performance measure using only a few terms of the sequence
