Abstract :
A simplified analysis of the harmonic distortion in the frequency domain, for circuits made up of a nonlinear amplifier with a linear feedback network is performed. The procedure leads to simple and compact expressions, highly improving the comprehension of harmonic distortion behaviour for a high-gain feedback circuit. Moreover, the approach allows to evaluate the impact on linearity of the kind of frequency compensation utilized (dominant-pole or Miller). The accuracy of the proposed analysis is confirmed through simulations with SPICE
