Information and communication technology-based tele-monitoring for elderly care houses

This paper reports the deployment of a tele-health monitoring system to be installed at an actual care house, which can monitor heart and breathing rates, and in/out of bed status of elderly residents over the Internet. Through a one-month operation, we could recognize several serious problems. This paper indicates these problems and suggests solutions to overcome them.
