  • Abstract
    A wide area protection agent with high degree of fault tolerance is designed in this paper by using fault direction information and distance action information. The working principle of the proposed agent is to first locate the fault by making a comparison between different fault direction information, and then conduct fault-tolerance processing by utilizing fault confirmation ring and distance action information. After giving an introduction to the fault location algorithm and fault tolerance identification algorithm, the paper designs the structure for the proposed protection agent and presents the dynamic cooperation mechanism that connect protection agents by use of wide area protection algorithm. Finally, the cooperation process and the performance of the proposed protection agents are analyzed through simulation tests. Test results manifest that the proposed wide area protection agent is equipped with good fault tolerance capability.
