Abstract :
A number of configurations have been presented to demonstrate the flexibility of the white light channelled spectrum technique with regard to multiplexing the outputs of Fabry-Perot type sensors. The result is that a multiplexing scheme, dictated by the application, requiring an absolute measurement of sub-micron resolution can be achieved by at least one of the systems. The powerful nature of the superluminescent diode makes this technique especially suited to multiple sensor arrangements although reduction in the signal-to-noise ratio with increasing sensor numbers will clearly limit the resolution attainable
