Abstract
Pollution together with habitat loss, overexploitation and the introduction of exotic species is a major cause of species extinctions i.e. loss of biodiversity. As a consequence of the Convention on Biodiversity and Agenda 21, pollution controls will tighten rather than be relaxed. The author examines exactly what is being done to manage deep ocean pollution
