This paper focuses on the design method of air drying dehumidification system for main cables of suspension bridge. The system is based on an emerging technique which employs dry air to dehumidify the main cables of suspension bridge. The main factors for designing such a dehumidification system were thoroughly analyzed. In addition, the value ranges for parameters related to designing, such as moisture content in the main cable, the air leakage rate along the main cable, were determined. A suspension bridge under constructing was taken as an example for case study. The proper values of several key parameters were determined, such as the length between the air inlets and exhausts, the drying time, the volume rate and pressure of supply air. Finally, the types and sizes of main equipments constructing the dehumidification system were decided.
