Abstract
Ecological footprint, ecological carrying capacity, regional economy ecological efficiency, ecological footprint´s diversity and development capacity of Wenzhou from 1997 to 2004 were calculated. Results showed that the regional economy ecological efficiency increased by 85.5% from 1997 to 2004, while ecological footprint, ecological footprint´s diversity and development capacity fluctuated, but generally increased. Hierarchical cluster analysis and discriminant analysis grouped 8 sampling years into three clusters, i.e., relatively less sustainable development (LSD), medium sustainable development (MSD) and highly sustainable development (HSD).The results of FA showed that sustainable development level of Wenzhou was an upward trend in recent years.
