E-butler: A User-Centric High Reliability Personal Portal Site

Owing to the massive amount of information available on the Internet, users are unable to understand and assimilate all of it. Therefore, an appropriate method is needed for consolidating and summarizing large amounts of information. In this paper, we propose a personal portal site that includes an identity provider and an attribute provider. It also manages personal information and activity logs for users. We propose an e-butler as an agent for assisting users with the management of information. The e-butler includes functions for managing logs, managing personal information, supporting the understanding of terms of use, and managing personal identity information. It also aids the user´s understanding and supports the user´s online activities.
