Abstract :
This paper describes a new topology of interleaved power converters using intercell transformers. A modified sequence of the voltages applied to windings is used to reduce the flux density in the magnetic core branches, consequently reducing core losses and the risk of saturating the magnetic material. Since the power density of the converter is high, a new assembling technique to construct the intercell transformers is used to allow easy cooling of the magnetic core branches which have higher magnetic flux. Experimental measurements confirm the topology operation and the flux reduction obtained with the modified supply.
