Abstract :
In wireless sensor networks, power saving of nodes is a significant issue for prolonging the service lifetime. We have proposed an energy saving method, which reduces the data traffic using spatio-temporal data interpolation. In this paper, we propose an extended method which applies a sleep scheduling mechanism to our previous method in order to further suppress energy consumption. Our proposed method suppresses the number of nodes which perform sensing and communication by letting some nodes transit to the sleep mode.
