Empirical analysis of the relationship between China´s energy consumption and economic growth based on Time series data from 1978 to 2008 is conducted, using Cobb-Douglas production function and Co-integration analysis as well as error correction model. The results of study show that at the present stage, consumotion of energy has become an important factor in Promoting economic growth. Meanwhile, further improvement of energy industry is demanded by economic development. We need to transform the development consideration of energy industry and make a rapid development of new energy accordingly.
