Abstract :
The performance analysis, by simulation, of a simple two-state rate-2/4 multiple trellis coded modulation (MTCM) scheme employing π/4-shifted quadrature differential phase-shift keying (QDPSK) modulated signal in the mobile communications channel is presented. The MTCM scheme is analyzed in the presence of fading (Rayleigh, Rician) and a single cochannel interferer. The results are presented as curves of bi error rate (BER) vs. signal-to-noise ratio, (SNR) with carrier-to-interference ratio (CIR) as a parameter. The performance of the MTCM scheme is compared with that of uncoded binary DPSK modulation
