Abstract :
A plan to form an interindustry collaboration to launch a trial called Project Edison is described. The objective of Project Edison would be threefold: to develop multimedia; to demonstrate the feasibility of low-cost video networking and establish performance criteria for educational applications; and to stimulate product and service development and offerings so that asymmetric video dial tone can be extended to all kindergarten through twelfth-grade students in the US
