Abstract :
A method is proposed to increase the performance of calculating the integral of absolute value (IAV) of an electromyogram signal (EMG) belonging to muscles above the elbow using a redundancy canceling technique. A criterion which leads to an optimal selection of acquisition window parameters is obtained. Results of the simulation show that the window parameters for an EMG signal should depend on the type of feature which is to be extracted
