Abstract :
A revolutionary new coating named NAMLITE(R) (patent pending) has been developed by the authors from National-Arnold Magnetics. This new coating can be applied to amorphous glass magnetic materials such as Allied Signal Metglas(R) 2605SC, 2605CO, 2714A, 2605SA1, 2705M and a new amorphous core material called Nanocrystalline. This new coating can support 2 to 10 volts per lamination, and can be enhanced by multiple applications to increase the volt/lam to even higher values. With this coating, stacking factors of 85% or more can easily be obtained on annealed cores. The cores can then be bonded with a low loss epoxy resin system to produce cores with outstanding mechanical properties.
