Abstract :
The paper reviews a process signal structure model of the transmission system devices and the experience in defining the acceptance and processing of information (signals, commands and measurements) in the substations and power grid centers. It also depicts the model defined by the expert groups of IEC technical committee (TC) 57. Finally, it provides a comparison of the existing device-based data model to the CIM model to underline the analogy of the approach in defining the process information for both models.
