Abstract :
This paper employs a two-step procedure, first a parametrization of the behavior of individual emitters followed by a simulation of the total field emitter arrays (FEA) inside the diode describing the emitters themselves by an equivalent distribution of the emitted electrons in space and momentum. Instead of solving the six dimensional Vlasov´s equation, the particle-in-cell algorithm to model particle dynamics is employed.
