Experiences in using object-oriented technology in the development of the SPACE system
Abstract :
The conditions under which the SPACE system was developed, the actual object-oriented development of the SPACE system, the problems encountered, and the lessons learned are described. The SPACE system is the integrated service creation and service management environment of the Integrated Service Control Point. (ISCP). A retrospective of the costs and benefits of using object-oriented technology, its impact on the current software development, practices, and recommendations on how to leverage its benefits are presented. While some technical issues are discussed, the paper is written from a management perspective
