Abstract
One of the (many) problems that VR suffers from is the fact that Virtual worlds, like bits of the real world that are unfamiliar, are easy to get lost in. Additionally, if the virtual world is being used by service providers to sell their products, then these service providers will need some means of enticing customers towards their (virtual) stands. This is a huge research area, the ultimate goal of which would be a fully interactive virtual character (or agent) that interacts with the user. In order to illustrate the potential in this area, it is proposed to focus initially on a small subset of the problem, the follow-me character
