Abstract
ESD behavior of metallic carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is explored. Unique TLP I-V characteristics and failure mechanism of carbon shells are discussed. ESD failure in CNTs is attributed to shell burning. It was found that CNT interconnect changes resistance in steps of fundamental quantum resistance (h/2e2) after individual shell burning.
