Abstract :
We measure the energy per bit (EPB) for the 25-Gb/s implanted holey VCSEL and 12-Gb/s coupled-cavity VCSEL, and discuss the possibilities for the VCSEL to achieve a lower EPB for data center and interconnect applications.
