Abstract
The CSATS (circuit switch automated test system) architecture, the methodology used by CSATS to develop ISDN tests, and the challenges in providing thorough test coverage are discussed. A key procedure (functional decomposition) used in the test script planning stage is discussed using two ISDN features as examples. Three methodologies (defaults with user control, guided walk, and orthogonal arrays) are discussed, and their roles in choosing test cases and improving testing efficiency are explained
