Abstract :
The project, sponsored by the Woshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT), stems from the belief that IT companies would benefit from an increase in marketing competence as well as from previous work on the needs of small IT firms (Courtney and Leeming, 1993). Focus is on the software and computing services industry (SW&S), valued at £6.8 billion, about 1% of GDP (Holway, 1994)
