Abstract :
We present an upper bound on the distortion of the optimal N-point vector-quantizer applied to k-dimensional signals. Our result holds under certain moment conditions on the signal, and applies to each and every value of N. This result extends existing work which holds exclusively in the high resolution limit and is shown to be tight to within a multiplicative constant
