Abstract :
A simple fading reduction method for maritime mobile satellite communications is described. An antenna that reduces the fading can be easily constructed by simply adding a low-noise amplifier and combiner to an ordinary antenna. Experimental results obtained with the EMSS (Experimental Mobile Satellite System) using the ETS-V (Engineering Test Satellite-V) confirm the validity of the proposed fading reduction model.<>
