  • Abstract
In this paper, we address the resource allocation problem in down-link transmission of MIMO-OFDMA systems. We aim at maximizing the total system capacity. The optimization problem is divided into sub-optimal ones in order to reduce the computing complexity. Firstly, a Physical Resource Block (PRB) allocation algorithm based on a recursive function is developed. Secondly, a power allocation procedure is performed. As all PRBs allocated to the same user must use the same Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) according to LTE specification, the power optimization sub-problem includes three steps: power allocation among PRBs (PAaPRB), power allocation among antennas (PAaA) and power allocation among users (PAaU). Simulation results show that our proposed method maximizes the total system capacity with a low-complexity in the case of loaded systems compared to well-known algorithms.
