Author_Institution :

Abstract :
A parallel between telecommunications management network (TMN) architecture and object modeling is described, and it is shown why development and implementation of this parallel furthers the drive toward fulfilment of network management. The logical layer architecture as defined in CCITT M3010 (TMN principles) is explored in detail. The history of object modeling is discussed, and the parallel is developed in more depth. The potential impact of further development of this parallel is explored
