Abstract
This paper addresses the problem of recovering the mean value and the variance of an input signal from the output data of a granular quantizer. Particular emphasis is dedicated to the measurement uncertainty with and without dither. Known general results are applied to random Gaussian and uniformly distributed signals and to deterministic sinusoidal signals.
