Abstract :
We reported the effects of Ti and Li doping on synthesis of nanocrystalline LixTiyNi1-x-yO (LTNO) powders. LTNO nanoparticles of 32-45 nm were successfully prepared by a polymer pyrolysis method. Phase formation and microstructure of the LTNO powders with different concentrations of Ti and Li were characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively. We found that the Ti and Li concentrations had effects on both of particle size and phase formation for the nanocrystalline LTNO powders. The particle size was found to be decreased with increasing the Li content, whereas it increased with increasing the Ti content. The second phase of NiTiO3 could be detected when the concentration of Ti increased up to 15 mol%.
