Abstract :
Main demand placed on scanning systems of Compton tomography is good spatial resolution. Accuracy of detection and minimum fixed value of heterogeneity of the control object as well as high efficiency of registration depend on it. For more accuracy positioning of the primary and scattered radiation as well as for the carrying out of the considered conditions the system of Compton tomography is designed with the usage of collimators. Collimator is an important unit of the scanning system. It is the device limiting the flow of gamma photons in the specified space angle. To improve spatial resolution the object has to be scanned over small parts that results in minimization of the space angle. However, to increase the efficiency of registration it is necessary to increase the space angle. These contradictions are the main difficulties in collimation systems design. The search for an optimal variant is realized in different systems of Compton tomography such as TomSvan-200, CBS LBD and others.
