Abstract :
A statistical experimental procedure for the experimental optimisation of metrological characteristics of transducers is proposed. The values of the transducer parameters capable of reducing the output uncertainty, and, simultaneously enhancing other metrological characteristics are determined. The procedure is based on experiment design planning and multivariate statistical analysis. Experimental results of a case study for the design of a magnetic differential displacement transducer are reported.
