Abstract :
A new independent distributed sources model is proposed. The Jacobi-Anger (JA) series expansion technique is used in model establishment. Without relating to the spatial angular spread, the model error is only decided by the series order. With high order of JA series, the error can be limited to a very small range. As being generally regarded as composing of several symmetric distributions, the non-symmetric distribution in our model can be viewed as a combination of two Gaussian distributions, the ratio between which determines the shape of the non-symmetric distribution. The proposed model breaks the limitations of the small spatial angular spread and symmetric distribution in traditional distribution sources models. A new DOA estimation method is derived from the incorporation of our model into the steepest descent algorithm. Computer simulation results demonstrate that the novel model is effective and the performance of DOA estimation method is close to that of the CRB.
